Santa Time

The past few years we go to the Christmas parade and then see Santa. Since we have been going it has been the same guy who plays Santa, and he is wonderful. Real beard, rosy cheeks, and he never seems bothered by the "criers". I know this because every year at least one of my girls cries.

I think this picture is funny, because if I had to guess she is telling him that she wants an iphone for Christmas. The look on Santa's face is priceless...............and no she is not getting an iphone! We told her Santa does not give 6 year olds cell phones!

Jadyn carried on the tradition this year by crying. She was terrified of Santa. This was as close as she got, and momma had to tell him what she wanted.

He tried talking to her, but she never would really look at him! Maybe next year!

Skating fun

This past weekend we went to a skating birthday party for our niece and nephew. Even I put on some skates and managed to not break anything! Jadyn (who has never skated) loved it! She is my fearless one! Gracie has not skated since she was probaly 3, so being my careful one she hugged the rail!

For days we have been trying to convince Gracie that her tooth was ready to come out. She wanted it to come out on its own, without us pulling it out. (and by us I mean Jerred because loose teeth make me sick to my stomach!) While wiggling it to see how loose it was today, it came out!! She is beyond excited! Looks like the tooth fairy will be visiting tonight.

Cinderella and Tinkerbell

This year I decided to make both girls costumes for halloween. I wanted to save a little bit of money and I haven't had too much luck with store bought costumes. After doing some shopping on etsy ( i love that site! you can get so many ideas) I decided that Gracie would be some sort of princess and Jadyn would be Tinkerbell. Gracie of course decided on Cinderella. The original plan was for Gracie's to be more of a strapless tulle gown, but that would take so much tulle and as it was I ordered the wrong color and had to send it back. I found a free tutorial on how to make a Cinderella dress based on one of your child's tops and just went from there.

I told her to act like a princess, this is what I got. So cute!

Jadyn, Jadyn, Jadyn.............next year you will be lucky if I just take a white sheet and cut holes out for eyes because you fought me every time we put your costume on. We're talking about full melt down. These pictures are AFTER the cookie bribe. I think they turned out good considering 20 minutes before she was all red in the face, wet cheeks, and snot nosed from all the crying.

"Fly Tinkerbell!" I bet you didn't know Tinkerbell wore nikes? =)

Are these costumes perfect? Well, no but neither are store bought costumes!

Magic Springs Contest

A little information, this is JoJo, our 150 pound great dane. Gracie was little red riding hood and JoJo was the wolf dressed as grandma. I did not buy his costume as is, I had to find a grandma night shirt (goodwill) and make some alterations. Dressing JoJo in this costume was also quite interesting since he kept laying on his back!!

Family Farm Pumpkin Patch

After reading one of my favorite bloggers recent trip to the Family Farm pumpkin patch, we decided that we would try there this year since our busy schedules didn't leave much time for us to go to Mayflower. It was only five dollars for us each to get in, and we all got a pumpkin! All the activities once you are in are free. Everyone that worked there was super nice and we all had a great time.

Lake Catherine 8/13- 8/22/2010

When it came time to talk about our vacation this year, we just kept putting off that discussion, and before we knew it it was nearly August. Between softball, Gracie starting kindergarten, and being sure to give my daycare parents plenty of notice, that didn't leave much of a vacation to actually get away. So, we decided to plan a stay-cation. The only week we could set something up was the week that Gracie started school since she was starting on Friday. We decided to spend some time in Hot Springs since we live about 45 minutes from there. Lake Catherine State Park has a beautiful campground, and you are close enough to Hot Springs that you can still go out.

We LOVE camping, but for this little girl when comes time to go to bed she wants to go home. Jerred told her " this is your home, at the lake. When we are at the lake that is your room. So go to your room and go to sleep." LOL! She got in her bed and went to sleep. If only it was that easy at home!

Gracie spent the night with a friend Friday night, so mamou and Olivia brought her to the lake. We went horseback riding, and these girls loved it! Especially my little cowgirl!

Although, you see the massively giant horse in the back? This big guy scared her! His name is Big Foot, and he is the most gentle horse they have! He is the kid horse! His ears are as long as my hand!

We have some impatient cowgirls on our hands!

It was VERY hard to take pictures while riding. Especially since my horse wanted to try to rub my leg on EVERY tree we passed.

These geese (and a few ducks) came to our campsite every day at about the same time. We fed them some crackers and bread. Our last day I saw a sign that said "Do not feed the geese" Ooops!

Who would have guessed a malshi would LOVE the water so much?! He got off his leash a few times and took off into the lake.
When I looked through the camera to look at all our pictures, there wasn't very many. I guess I spent more time relaxing then documenting our vacation. Oh well. It was nice.

The last weekend a bunch of family came up and we hung out. These three girls are best friends, no matter their age difference.

We did a lot of hanging out, kayaking, boating, fishing, swimming, and card playing. It was a great week, but I was so glad to be home! After living in the camper for a week my house felt huge to me. Since we made a couple of trips home during the week, our laundry wasn't that bad either!

I'm ready to go back though.

Open House August 16,2010

I am a bad, bad, bad blogger. It has been a long time since I updated this. So, here goes.

Gracie's kindergarten open house. Seeing her class for the first time and meeting some of her class mates. This girl does not do change and new situations well. Playing softball has helped her a lot with this, but you can just see how nervous she is.

Jadyn on the other hand was very excited about kindergarten. She was all over the place checking stuff out. I think the look on Gracie's face about sums up her feelings about kindergarten.

Gracie's teacher, Mrs. Rosnermanz, was also Jerred's teacher in the second grade.

We had Gracie introduce herself to some of the people in her class. The little girl at the same table as her decided before we even left that they were going to be best friends. One little girl shares her birthday, and she just thought that was so neat.

We HAD to look for one of her softball buddies before we could leave!

Open house was during our week of "stay"cation. We spent the week at Lake Catherine, and we left right after open house to head back to the lake!

Well, close to perfect...............We ate at gg's house Friday night and it was yummy! Jadyn kept going in and out so I think someone (hmmmmm) locked the door to keep her in.

Saturday we set up the little pool for a little bit...............this is always a big hit!

After lunch we took a drive to Hot Springs to check out some campsites for our "stay"cation. We went to just about every campsite on Lake Quachita but just didn't find any as nice as it is at Lake Catherine. This is at Lake Catherine........

Next we drove around in Diamondhead, and found a little park that had some old playground equipment. I thought it was neat since a lot of the stuff out there I had played on at a different park when I was little.

We drove through just about every campsite on Lake Quachita before we headed back towards Hot Springs. We decided to eat at Rod's Pizza Cellar. It is soooo good! Jadyn tried some pickled okra and loved it!

We had a long day, but a great day! We can't wait to spend our week at the lake!

We got to bring baby Alex home with us for the night, so his mommy and daddy could go on a little honeymoon! What a great baby! The girls just love him, and want to hold him all the time!

Barnyard Friends

On the Fourth of July,we went to camp at Petit Jean with my dad and Vicki. It is so peaceful up there and we were lucky enough to have a spot right on the lake. (you can't swim in it but they do have a nice pool to use) We wanted to do something the kids would enjoy so we thought about going on a trail ride, but after looking at the prices we decided against that!! Instead we went into the petting zoo. You would think that since we basically have our own petting zoo that the girls wouldn't be to interested but they loved it! There are a lot of different animals there, i.e. cows, donkeys, goats, miniature horses, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, feret, sheep. You name it, it was there! There was even two tiny baby deer. So cute!!

Lucky for the girls, Jadyn had spilled some sweet tea on her shirt so they LOVED her!!

First time on a horse! She was grinning ear to ear!

Well worth the visit to Barnyard Friends! As much as they have there, I kind of feel like they take in peoples unwanted animals/pets! After standing out there in the hot hot sun we went swimming, but that didn't last long! Gracie could swim all day, Jadyn doesn't care too much for it after about an hour! She thinks she is big enough to swim without help of any kind, life jacket included!

We skipped the fireworks show at Petit Jean since Jadyn was so whiney and tired! We could hear the booms from our campsite, but couldn't see any of them! Oh well, the girls found some on T.v. to watch and that was good enough for them and good enough for my sanity!

Summerslam tournament

Our first tournament of 3 for the next 3 weekends was this weekend. Summerslam sponsored by Thunder. We had our first game Friday night (a loss) but Gracie had a GREAT game!! If she would only be aggressive going after the ball and actually throw it instead of chasing the runner down! (which occassionally does work!) Since we lost our first game, we had to play at 9 Saturday morning! =( We played against the swing sisters and won!

Thanks to Amy at http://www.faith-love-hope.com/ , we made some fruity popsicles. I think they turned out pretty good! We did watermelon, strawberries, and pineapple juice because that's what we had. We will be making more fruit popsicles this summer! Especially since I found popsicle molds that actually pull the popsicle out still attached to the stick!

Jadyn the popsicle goes in your mouth, not your finger! Lol!

and for our visitor.............we have several apple trees in our yard. They are green sour apples that really are too good unless you bake with them. Oh, and the deer like them!

Our crazy busy insane weekend

We were super busy this weekend! I don't even think that begins to describe it! First of all, this little guy made his appearance Friday afternoon! Meet my nephew, Alex William. He was 6 pounds and 10 ounces, 19 inches long. Congrats to my little brother and Bridgette!!

Friday night and Saturday we played in a softball tournament. We played against the top two teams in our division. It wasn't pretty, but we did learn A LOT and it showed in our last game we played on Saturday where we were AHEAD! But some of the other teams girls can hit the ball into the outfield and that really hurt us in the end!

We won third place ( out of 3 teams) but our girls didn't know the difference! They all got medals and was really excited about our trophy!

I took some pictures of the girls batting, and let me just say it was very hard to keep up with this little girl at the same time! She is everywhere, and not afraid of anything! So, if you are at the ball park and you see this little girl running around without her momma, she belongs to me and send her back. It takes her about .2 seconds to run off! She is going to be the death of me, I just know it!

Gracie's Art Show

Way in the back of Jadyn's closet is Gracie's Princess dress she wore to her first birthday party. Gracie got it out and put it on. Amazingly the only thing wrong with it was that it was too short. I thought it would be interesting to show her wearing it at the age of ONE and the age of FIVE! I remembered that Gracie had NO hair at this age, but it is shocking to see!

HA!!

When Gracie gets her mind set on something she wants to do she works hard on it! She decided to have an art show and drew a bunch of pictures. I hung them up, and she walked around and put "thank you" stickers on all the kids artwork. It was so funny because when all the parents were about to come she made some "juice" and had some cheese out for them. Her "juice" was water, gatorade, fresca, some orange juice squeezed in, some grapes, and her secret ingredient........white sugar.

So, please enjoy her art show and all her hard work and be thankful you don't have to drink her "juice"!

We had a pretty uneventful weekend due to everyone being under-the-weather. Gracie ran 102.4 fever all weekend and has the cough, sore throat, and ear ache. Jadyn just has a nasty cough. Jerred and I pretty much are just coughing. Gracie ( bless her little sick heart) must have been feeling bad because all weekend she kept asking to go to the doctor so she can feel better.
Don't you just love calling the doctor first thing on a Monday morning? I think all of Saline county must be sick since it took me until 8:15 just to get through, then I hit the number to leave a nurse a message, so I had to hang up and try again. When I finally dialed it right, I was caller number 25 in Que. We got in, and I was glad because it is extremely hard for me to get away! Gracie has an ear infection in both ears, and wheezing in her chest. Jadyn has an ear infection in the right ear. On to the pharmacy to pick up all 6 of their prescriptions! We get to the pharmacy and wait in the drive-thru lane ( there was no way I was about to take both sick whiny girls inside) forever and it's our turn....................$261.00! No joke! I about died! I asked what all was there and we already had a few of things so that brought our total to $165.00! The entire time I trying to figure out how we had two hundred plus dollars in medicines both girls are in the back seat going Jadyn " i tirrrrrd! I nite-nite!" Gracie " I want to go, come on lady!" Seriously.............and there's like five cars behind me plotting my demise. So I pay get my prescriptions and drive home.

Once home I'm looking through the meds and notice that there isn't an antibiotic for Jadyn. So, I call the pharmacy and sure enough it got called in separately and was still at the pharmacy. GREAT! Drove back and spent another $10! UGGGGGGGGGGGGGhhhhhhh!!

Our normal doctor we see always asks if we want generics on our prescriptions, but this doctor didn't ask, so we got prescribed all medicines that did NOT have a generic form. I was sure it was noted in our chart, but I guess not! Lesson learned today= always ask for generic!

I got this little sweetie a sewing machine for Christmas and she has really been wanting to get it out. I let her today. I just couldn't say not right now to her sad little pale sick face. It has a guard around the needle so she can't stick her finger. The stitches don't stay unless you take a needle and finish the end. REally I don't think she cares!

Jadyn's birthday part 2

I told myself I was going to be better about my blogging and try to do something everyday. Well, obviously that hasn't happened, and not because I don't have anything to put on here but because of the simple fact that I either forget or I am just mentally exhausted to where I don't think most of the time I even make sense. So, keep in mind when you read these that I keep 5 kids all day, 4 who are 2 and under.

Jadyn had more of a birthday weekend celebration, than just a party. Her birthday was actually Sunday, but we just did a small family thing. Saturday was her big party/parties. We had a party at build-a-bear for the little kids around her age. That place was packed! Then we had a bigger party for everyone at Larry's pizza that night. We have been telling Jadyn that when she turns two that there would be no more mimi(paci) and I had read an idea of taking all your paci's and putting them in a bear. So we decided to do that and I've been talking to Jadyn about it for the past couple of weeks. Every time we had the talk about it she would cry. Ugh........ The week before her party I kept mimi away a little more each day. I will not lie to you. It did NOT go over well and it took some coaxing to get her to put them in the dog, but she did eventually. So here is our long day of pictures!

AT the end everyone in the store sang Happy birthday and between each verse you sway your arms and say "cha cha cha". She just looked at us like we were all crazy!

Fast forward to the big family party at Larry's pizza.............

We asked for clothes since we have more than enough toys, by the second or third bag, she just shoved it and said no!

Getting close to bedtime, she's looking for a "clean mimi" .................so I let her look for herself to see there was no mimi's in there!

Picture is awful because it was taken with my phone, but here she is crying for her mimi. She really did good, and only cried for about 5-10 minutes. She tried to find the mimi dog's "pocket" to get her mimis out and pulled a chunk of fur out trying.

OH what a big yawn!

That first night was nothing like I thought it would be! I expected to be up half the night, but she was worn out from her big day! And while I would love to say that she loves her mimi dog and just cuddles it and plays with it, I think she hates it! Daddy asked her after her nap the next day where mimi was , and she said " mimi gone gone"

Mommie, Gracie,Jadyn day

This weekend we had a mommie,Gracie, and Jadyn day. Daddy had a class in Camden, and since there are always other kids around I decided to treat my girls to a day. We slept in, Gracie made a picture for Bindi the jungle girl (her new obsession) , and then it was off to town. These pictures are taken with my phone so ignore the blurriness!

Here we are at Wal-mart. We ate lunch at the Subway and then did our grocery shopping. This is a rare moment in wal-mart where Jadyn is not standing or hanging half-way out the cart. The seat belt is just a joke!

After Wal-mart, we went to the movies to see Chipmunks the squekquel. It was pretty cute! Let me say that staying in line to get movie snacks and keeping up with Jadyn was an ordeal. She kept running in to the game room, and I had to keep going after her each time losing my place in line. Finally we got it all together and headed into our movie. (which had already started)

Jadyn did good thru the movie up until the last 10-15 minutes. She sat there and ate on her sour punch straw the whole movie. That's pretty good for an almost two year old. ( I think) When we got out it was past nap time, so Jadyn was asleep before we got out of the parking lot! Gracie wasn't too far behind that. Overall, it was a good day........................=)

Children's Church

Our church has a program for the kids for ages 2-5 or 6 and Jadyn has been going for the past few weeks. I stayed in there with Jadyn the first time. She clung to me, and didn't really want to participate at first. After snack she warmed up and loved singing along with the music. She's been going ever since and I have yet to get a bad report.

This past Sunday we had a Valentines banquet at church. The grown ups played a version of the newly wed game, and when we were done Jadyn and Grady hoped up in the chairs and said "my turn". Just look at the look on Jadyn's face.................we may be in trouble!

Oh how time flies! Seems like only yesterday my baby was born, and now I am about to have a feisty two year old on my hands! This little girl just melts my heart! She is so loving and sweet(most of the time), and almost always says "tank tyou"! Yes, I meant to put that "t" in front of you because that is how she says it! She can have conversations with you, and loves to tell me "Grace hit me," even when she didn't. I also love love the fact that she hears Gracie being called Grace so much that that is what she calls her! LOL! I break out the full name when I am being stern, so yes it does get used A LOT! Jadyn is my little adventurous one. She loves to climb, get into stuff, and usually is the ring leader of trouble! She climbs out of her bed, climbs in her dresser and throws all her clothes out, and can scoot any chair in the kitchen to get in the cabinets. Also, Jadyn is refusing to wear pants or socks now,and is even taking off her own diaper. Ugh, I will spare you the details! Here's her invitation this year, notice the tongue thing? That's in A LOT of her pictures these days!

Last night we went and handed out some invitations, and stopped by GG's to visit and of course make some beautiful music...............

Birthday and SNOW!

Meet Frosty, Gracie's first ever snowman. Wow! She is five years old and this is her very first snowman. I think we did a pretty good job consdering it had been raining off and on all day, even when we were out there.
Jadyn could have cared less about making a snowman. She just does her own thing most of the time. She wandered around the yard just looking around.

I love to look out and watch it snow............so pretty and peaceful. Makes me wish for a big bay window, a book, and cup of coffee.

We still have snow on the ground, but the sun is shining. I sure hope frosty makes it! Gracie wants it to be there forever! LOL!

This past weekend was my birthday. It all started out pretty good. Went to wal-mart Friday night to do my shopping, front space parking without having to drive around. Whoo-hooo!! Then decided to treat myself to some movies at hastings. Let me just say, I love my netflix for the simple fact that there are no late fees, but I suspended it when all the fall shows started back up. So, needless to say I was worried that I was going to be paying a bunch of late fees at Hastings since we can't seem to get movies back on time.=) Not only was there NO late fees, but I had CREDITS! Enough credits that I got one of my movies FREE!! Whoo-hoo!! All that good luck had to come to an end sometime..............Saturday was my birthday and this is what I did first thing Saturday morning.....................

Sure is pretty huh? That will teach me to go in the laundry room! I guess I'm banned from going in there? Ha! I wish! I had a pretty low key day from there. I watched some movies, we went to town , and ate at my mother -in- laws. I've been wanting to go to a pottery place and make a utensil holder with my girls, so my hubby took me to do it! I will post pictures of it when we pick it up. I forgot to take pictures while we were there.

Sunday I did NOTHING! I mean absolutely nothing. I even took a three hour nap! I was trying to stay off my foot as much as possible preparing myself for kiddos the next day! Then we got the snow! I spent most of the day on the couch reading Dear John. I was somewhat disappointed, but I won't go into to it. I did read today that the movie ends different. I can't wait to go and see it. Hopefully this weekend!!

Christmas 2009

Wow! So this post is really late. But oh well! Christmas is a busy time for us! Christmas Eve we go to my side of the family in Morrilton. Well let me just say that was an adventure to say the least! It had rained so much that part of the interstate was shut down. We had to take back roads and go way around. After about two hours in the car we finally made it. Let me just say Jadyn has NEVER been a good car rider! Probaly due to the fact that since I work from home she has never been in the car much! So, any trip longer than 30 minutes we hear a lot of crying, whining, and screaming. Good times!

So here are all the great grand kids (so far) on my dad's side of the family........

Traditions

One of our Christmas traditions that we have done the last several years is to go downtown and watch the parade and then see Santa. Then all the pictures get put on their website, so I thought it would be fun to show you my pictures from the last several years of visiting Santa. Let me just say I think our Santa is the best! He looks just like him, and he has the best personality!! (unlike the mall Santa's!!)

I think this was the first year she actually sat with Santa. I was so surprised there was no tears!

Oh, she made up for it here......Jadyn is just looking at her like "What's your problem?"

"Get this guy away from me!" As soon as we left the tears started flowing again, because she didn't tell Santa what she wanted and now he wasn't going to bring her anything.

Messing with her hat. I think she told Santa what she wanted? At this point we had already tried the picture below so I was trying to calm Jadyn down!

This picture is hilarious to me! I don't think Santa gets paid enough!

Every year, Gracie asks for stuff that she makes up, or something like aquaglobes. Well, this year I have been asking and asking and it's always "I'm thinking about it." Then she finally tells me, " I want pink binoculars." Whew! No running around trying to create something that doesn't exist this year.

Merry Christmas! and Happy shopping everyone!! We are going to Jonesboro this weekend to look at the lights, and do a little shopping since we can use my brothers discount card at Walmart!LOL!

Ok, so these pictures are so out of order, but who knows maybe one of these days I will get it right? LOL!

Gracie's party was a hit! The weather was great, Gracie had a great time playing with her cousins and friends, and we all enjoyed roasting hot dogs! I love planning parties! I love searching the internet for different ideas, games, and decorations, BUT man it is a lot of work during the party getting everything done. I learned I can't lead the games, take pictures, AND socialize. I hate to ask people to volunteer to help. I did that for her 4th birthday, and some of my volunteers didn't show or forgot.............I'm thinking this might be the last big birthday party for Gracie. I think 5 years worth of big parties is good. What do you think?

Gracie's fifth birthday is next week and this year she has decided on a Wizard of Oz theme. Which was really surprising because although she likes the movie it is not one of her favorites and she gets scared during parts of it. I on the other hand, could recite the movie for you I have seen it so many times. It was one of my go-to movies as a child. It always seems like she has a way of choosing things either don't exist or are simply hard to find. For example, two years ago she asked for a shrek castle for christmas from santa. I searched the internet and let me tell you there is no such thing. So, not wanting to dissapoint her we found little shrek figures ( extremely over priced) on the internet and bought a toy castle. Has she played with it? Yes! She loved it and now Jadyn is enjoying it. But, two weeks after Christmas, after we spent ten dollars or more on the figurines, plus whatever we had to pay to get it by Christmas, Target had them on clearance for $1.99. My point is there are no wizard of oz stickers, paper, anything anywhere. So, I had to get creative, and yes after I got done I thought of ways to make these better, but at this point I'm on a time crunch.

I finally found a pre-school program on the internet that is in our price range(free!!) that lays everything out for you so all you have to do is pick up that weeks books and print out some pages. EASY!! So we decided to go to the library last week to pick up all of our books on cows, because that is our first weeks theme! On the way I tell Gracie, "don't get upset if they are closed because I'm not sure when they close." " ok momma." Then I go about driving and I hear the little conversation between Gracie and Jadyn. Gracie- "Jadyn don't get upset if the library is closed, because I probaly will." Jadyn- "o-tay" Well, of course, we picked the ONE night of the week they close early. Tears and wailing. Grrrreeeeaaaaatttttt. ONe chocolate shake and trip to hastings later she's ok with a new paint book in her bag. Saturday we made the trip again and look...................

All of our books about cows, some about thanksgiving, leaves, animals in fall/winter,leaves, plenty to keep us busy!

You have to be 5 to get your library card, and it is still a couple of weeks away from her birthday, but I asked anyways. At first he was very reluctant to let her get a card, but then he asked"Can she write her name?" "YES." I was so proud!!!

It's not beautiful but she can write her name without any help!!

Halloween 2009

This year was the first Tull Fall fest. There was games, costume contest, hot dogs, and then trunk or treating. It was a lot of fun for the kiddos and we have way more candy then we need!!

Jadyn was a love bug this year. It was Gracie's costume that we got in Childrens Place in California three years ago. I loved it so much, Jadyn just had to wear it!!

Paw-Paw will do anything for his grand daughters! Gracie did his hair and make up.

Little Red Riding Hood and grandma. Gracie and our great dane JoJo. I got this idea from family fun's website. I just knew we had to do it!!

Oh, and by the way, the cape turned out fine, but I was so not impressed with the hood. Oh well, I 'm still learning!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

I will just say that this is the second year for us to go to the Schafers Pumpkin patch in Mayflower and it is well worth the drive. You go on a hayride to the pumpkin patch, where you pick your own pumpkin, for only five dollars!! The other pumpkin patch we used to go to charged per pound! We NEVER got two pumpkins for just ten dollars! Schafers is just a lot of fun! The hayride has halloween decorations set up along the way to the patch, a big playground area, and plenty of spots set up to take pictures!

So, as you may know, I have an in-home daycare and right now I have my two girls and two little boys (who are cousins). The little boys are around the same age as Jadyn (it's like having triplets) but one of them is going to have a baby sister sometime this week if not than Monday. By the end of the year I will have a new baby here with three almost two year olds!! I am looking for a sling like one of these from target to hold baby Anna in some. Our last day we went to the Gulf Coast Zoo. It is a small zoo, but so worth going. They have a few "hands on" exhibits. You could hangout with the kangaroos, play with the baby tigers, or do the leaping lemur exhibit. We chose the lemurs. It was so much fun, and I bet not many of you can say you have held a lemur.....

There is a reason for the goofy look on my face.............this lemur is licking my neck! Jadyn was more entertained by their toys than with them. She could have cared less about the lemurs.

Gracie on the other hand was super excited!!

We went to the tiger show. It was neat, but the girls were bored after about 10 minutes.

Gulf Shores Vacation - part 1

Let me just start out by saying, we had a really great time at the beach once we got there. The drive was another story. After listening to Gracie ask are we there yet a million times, driving the forever it feels it takes to get across Mississippi, we get to Alabama, the home stretch. We decided to pull in at the Welcome center to stretch our legs and get a map, and as soon as we took the exit we heard a pop. One of the tires on the camper blew!! Ok, no big deal, we have a spare. After a quick change we are on the road again. We make it about 3.6 miles from the Foley exit to Gulf Shores and hear another pop!! The other camper tire blew!! No second spare! It's Sunday, so we are panicing wondering how we are going to get another tire. We get out the lap top and start looking for a mobile tire service, just so you know there are no mobile tire services in Alabama. We make several phone calls, our insurance company (couldn't help us), several big name stores (again no help), and my dad who the camper belongs to (no help). So, we are stranded on the freeway with two kids and a dog about 30 minutes from our destination. Jerred makes the decision to limp it up to our exit to the nearest gas station. We make it, meet someone who tells us Wal-mart (yay walmart!!) sells the right kind of tires. We leave the camper at the gas station(second one on the right, super nice guy!! thank you!!) find a wal-mart, buy the tire, go back to the gas station, and change the tire. 5 hours later we are making the last 30 minute drive to gulf shores!!! AAAArrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!! Then the gps doesn't even know where it's going to get us to the Gulf State Park. We finally make it there around 7. Here's the part that my dad keeps laughing at me for. As we are checking in one of the ladies informs me that I need to be really careful with my dog because there are alligators in the park and they LOVE dogs!! Especially needed to be careful after dark. Be sure and take a flash light to the bathroom. Ok, so now I am freaking out!! And of course our first night there I had to go in the middle of the night (we don't have a bathroom in the camper) I ran there and back terrified I was going to meet a gator ready to eat me. My dad is still laughing at me................and I had to go in the middle of the night all week........probaly because I was so scared to go down there because I don't usually do that.

So, on with some pictures.................

Let me just start by saying Jadyn is starting doing everything big sister is doing, since sister kept throwing herself down in the sand, so did she. It made taking pictures very difficult, but I got some good ones............
We went to the beach every day except WEdnesday (we went shopping) because I was sooooo incredibly burnt! Jadyn didn't care for the ocean but she loved the sand and us putting water in her pool. Gracie and Jerred loved boogie boarding. That's my little surfer girl!! Me, I would get in the water, but not far, mainly I walked the beach looking for shells and just relaxing. The waves hitting the beach is the best sound................I miss it!!

We stayed at the Gulf state park, which was destroyed by hurricane Ivan in 2004. A lot of the reconstruction just got finished the summer. It was really nice at the park, very clean bathrooms. They are in the process of completing pool, laundry room, and tennis courts. The beach pavilion was also a new addition. It was really nice! We had to pay five dollars to park to go to this beach but it was worth it because it was clean, and hardly any people on it. We visited the free public beach, but with a child who puts everything in her mouth it was worth visiting a free beach if she had her choice of hundreds of ciggarette butts to choose from. So we gladly paid five dollars!

Our first night we ate at Mikee's, very good. It was late so the kids were pretty awful and our waitress was very nice and understanding. We ate at Bahama Bob's, Lulu's,Cosmo's, and The hangout. My favorite was Lulu's. We sat on the water, listened to live music, and just the whole place was a nice atmosphere. The Hangout would have been great, but we had horrible service! The view was the best though! That's all I can say nice about it. Our whole trip, everywhere we went ( with this one exception) everyone was extremely friendly. One place you must visit- Hope's Cheesecake! Enough said!

Gracie's First Haircut

Wow! Gracie is four years old and just now having an actual hair cut. We did have it trimmed a few months ago, but this was her first real salon visit. We waited a long, long time for her to have hair, like two years! She was practically bald until shortly before her second birthday. Her hair was down to the middle of her back and had ringlet curls, and to be honest I guess I waited this long to cut it because I knew it would cut those beautiful curls off.

She looks really happy to be getting haircut doesn't she? I asked her the night before if she wanted to get it cut, and of course the answer was YES! She told me where she wanted it cut to (a little below her shoulders, which is what we did) but as the more time went by it kept getting longer and longer until she started crying and saying " I don't want my hair cut! I want my long long hair!" She cried on the way to the salon, but once we got there she was ok.

She was perfect in the chair. She just sat there and watched. Her sister on the other hand was running around the salon screaming like she owned the place.

Cosmo- our new furry family member

Friday night we drove to northern Arkansas and picked up the newest member of our family! Cosmo, a maltese shih tzu mix. He is really sweet and cuddly! Gracie and Jadyn both just love him. He is 7 weeks old and weighs about 2 pounds. He shouldn't get any bigger than about 10 pounds or so.

I got the sweetest pics of Jadyn holding Cosmo but they are all pretty blurry since she doesn't sit still. She kept saying MINE! MINE! Saturday morning she woke up calling him in her room.

He loves to sleep!

Movie Under the Stars-George of the Jungle

So this past Saturday night we had a bunch of friends over ( like 50 people!) and we had an outdoor movie showing of George of the Jungle!! It was so much fun, and I think everyone enjoyed it! Everyone got here around 8 and the kids played out in the yard while we were waiting on it to get dark enough to start the movie. I think we ended up starting the movie around 8:45. We supplied the popcorn and drinks and had everyone bring movie snacks. This is the snack table after the kids and there is still a bunch of candy, and if you look under the table there are two bags that didn't even get opened! We have enough left over that next time no one will have to bring any snacks!

The movies about to start, all the kids are finding a seat and going through their goodies. Gracie is up front in the blue laying down.

Jadyn would sit for a little while and watch the movie, and then she would wander aroundFixing to get started........

Here's the beginning of the movie. We used a white tarp that Jerred had and it worked out perfectly. My only complaint was that it wasn't loud enough because all of the crickets were singing! So, next time we are going to find some bigger speakers!

We spent Father's day outside grilling some steaks and enjoying the girls playing outside in their pool. Jadyn loves to swing!!! Here she is saying "Chhhhheeeesssseeee" she says that anytime you get the camera out!

Daddy put the pool under the slide, and Gracie loved it! She went down the slide any and every way you can think of.

Here's my little evil knievil..............She kept inching towards the slide but only when there was noone standing close to it. She was determined to do it by herself, and she did and didn't mean to I think but ooopsss!!

This time was intentional, we didn't have the camera out for the oops!

Wow!! I can't even believe that we have improved sooooo much since the beginning of the season! We won tonight 11-0!!! Everyone had at least one good hit! Our defense is still lacking a bit, but our bats are on fire!!!

Well, my husband keeps reminding me to put this on here..................even though I have no pictures. Last Wednesday's game Gracie hit her first home run!!! It was at the end of the game and we needed to score some runs to win the game, and she brought two girls in winning the game!! So, exciting!!

Old Folks Singing........part 1

So, for all you people who don't live in Tull, Old folks singing began in 1885 after the land for the Ebenezer United Methodist Church was bought and built and the third Sunday in May was the dedication of the church. The other two community churches were invited for a "dinner on the grounds" as they called it. There was a regular service in the morning and then a break for lunch and then singing from the Christian Harmony book. It was such a success that the church decided to make it an annual event of singing using the old books, and called it "Old Folks Singing". This was the 124th year, my 9th year to go, and it just amazes me every year. This is a family tradition, that not just our family attends, but many families. Songs are sung, stories are told, good food is shared, and most importantly you are a part of a on-going tradition. One that I hope that my children will someday be standing at the front of that old church telling their favorite old folks singing story, and singing one of those old hymns...............

I can't believe that we have won our last 4 season games!!! We don't do so well in tournaments for some reason, but we are improving!!

If you live out here in the big town of Tull, you have probaly drove by and seen our newest guests. We have four mallards that come every year and stay a couple of months and then move on. I don't know if they are wild, or we have been told that they may belong to a neighbor. We have a creek behind our house that around this time of the year floods into our yard and they love it here because it is so marshy ( probaly not a word). Since we have had a monsoon lately the ducks have had plenty of water to swim in.................

There are 3 males and one female. Gracie named them Sparkle, Oswald, Prince Phillip, and Shane Gray...............

Sardis Tournament April 25, 2009

Well, we finished fourth in this Tournament. The girls got medals and were so excited about them! I wonder what they would do if we won a trophy?!! I'm just glad they are having fun, and they think we win every game!!

This is a common site of Gracie out there playing in the dirt............

But she stopped two balls and even ran the ball to second base to watch the runner!! She hit the ball a few times, but we were playing teams that have played a couple of years, so they got to the ball fast and both times tagged our runner going home and it always seemed like that was the last out.

I think our girls did pretty good today! We have improved so much since our first game! Our last game was really close, and if we hadn't made a few newbie mistakes, I think we could have won!!

Next weekend, we have another tournament and we are suppose to play again Monday night but I think we may get rained out!!

McDade Family Garden

Ok, here's the conversation the conversation that went down......Jerred is digging a hole for a tomato plant and finds a caterpillar, and Rita tells him that he needs to kill it because it will eat the plants.

Olivia- "NO, don't kill it!! I will move it!"

Jerred and Rita- " It will just come back and eat our plants."

Now, it's at this point that Jerred takes the shovel and kills the caterpillar.

Olivia-" WWaaaahhhhh.............YOU KILLED IT!"

Gracie- " It's ok Olivia, it will come back."

Olivia cried for like 5 minutes for this little caterpillar and Gracie was consoling her.

This game was last Thursday, but I didn't have a chance to post the pictures until now. We played last night, but I didn't get to take any pictures because I was doing the scorebook, and watching Jadyn!! Fun!! We played Lightning and won 8-2!! Gracie hit the first pitch thrown to her and actually scored a run!! I was surprised ( not that she hit the ball but that she scored a run) because she doesn't run the bases, she justs jogs and then when she gets two or three steps away just walks to it. All of our girls hit the ball last night! It was GREAT!!!

We play again tonight if we don't get rained out!!

Jadyn grabbed her new cup first thing!! It has a straw, and she LOVES to drink from a straw!

She still has that cute sleppy face! Not really interested with the rest at this point!!

I think this is when she found one of sissy's jelly beans on the floor, and decided that what was in these bags was good stuff!!! She ate several chocolate candies wrapper and all!!

Jadyn is VERY much a creature of habit like her sister! She just doesn't like to be rocked to sleep, she wants to lay in HER bed and go to sleep. So, Easter was spent with her having a 45 minute nap in the car and her being grouchy all day long!!

Ok, I wasn't thinking and uploaded these backwards!!

Here Gracie is at Second, her hands in her pockets, and when she went to third she kind of jogged half way and then she walked and of course got tagged.

Gracie, even though she was crying, hit the ball.

It was VERY cold!! I didn't take Jadyn to this game, that's how cold it was!!

Gracie spent most of the game on the field, hands in her pockets, and crying. Her second time to bat she just stood there crying and wouldn't even swing the bat.

We didn't hit the ball until the end of the game. We had several tag outs which we were all proud of !!!

Well, Saturday we started at 12 and lost our first game. Then we played again at 3 and won!!! OUr first win and also gracie's first time to hit the ball!! Then we played again at 5 and lost. We tied for third place. It was a long hot day at the ballpark, but the girls had a good time and learned a lot!!!!

Listen to our girls chattering!!! Towards the end you will hear me scream "that's Gracie!" that would be because one of our girls tagged Gracie instead of the other team!! Ha!

Sardisfest Day 1 Friday 4-3-09

Well, Friday started our long weekend at the ball park with Olivia playing at 7 and Gracie playing at 8. Here's Judd and Jadyn sitting in their Easter gifts from Mamou and Grandpa!!

Sucker time!! Anything to keep them happy!! Jadyn's looking at Judd's sucker probaly thinking "hmmm........I wonder if he's tastes better?!!"

It was pretty chilly, but Gracie did pretty good!! I don't think any balls came her way that she was able to get. In fact, in the car on the way home she started crying because no one threw (hit) her the ball.

She didn't have any success hitting the ball this night either.

It was Alissa's birthday so they all had cupcakes before the game!! Yumm!!! Sugar rush!! Unfortunately all the sugar didn't help us in the game! I'm not going to name names or trash talk or any of that, but the team that we were playing had NO business playing in this tournament!! And that's all I'm going to say about that!

Getting ready! She still has a lot to learn about watching the ball. She didn't hit the ball tonight either, but she sure can swing the bat!!

Gracie's cheer team.........Jadyn, Judd, and Corbin. Corbin is more interested in his cookie to look at me, and Jadyn I'm sure is about two seconds away from saying "mom-ma". I love it!! Corbin finally realized Gracie was out on the field, and he was pointing at her and just squeeling!!

I don't think she was as into the game tonight. She was sitting in the dirt a lot, twirling around, make a big dirt pile, and complaining about how cold it was. She did stop a few balls. One thing she has going for her is even though she doesn't pay attention she still gets to the ball!!

Good game girls!! I wish I had got the picture after this as they were coming back and running and screaming like a bunch of wild GIRLS!!

We played much better this game! We didn't win though, but it was close 4-3. We REALLY need to work on what to do with the ball once we get it. Gracie needs to hit the ball so we can see her in action!!

Friday and Saturday we are playing in a tournament in Sardis. I think it will be good practice for these girls!! Whew! It's going to be a long weekend! I guess this is only the beginning of our time spent at the ball park! So proud to be a sporty girl's mom!!!

Gracie's First Softball Game 3-30-2009

Last night was a BIG night for us. Gracie had opening ceremonies for her first year of softball at 6:00 and then her first game in Bryant at 8:00. Here is her biggest fan cheering her on!!! Go sissy!!

Gracie up to bat!! She didn't hit any, but she tried really hard and made some good swings!!

GET READY!! That's what I kept yelling out to her. She did a really good job stopping the ball when she wasn't twirling around or kicking her leg up in the air!!

ATTACK!! That's what I thought when they would go after the ball. Gracie is #31(her daddy's sports number!) in the middle, she got the ball but like everyone else was unsure what to do with the ball once she got it.

Well, they moved to quick for me to catch the right shot, but just before Gracie and Coach daddy were walking out and if I had to guess he was giving her a pep talk!

Unfortunately, we lost this game. I won't tell you the score because hey they're still little and it doesn't matter, right?! What's important is that they have fun and they learn something, and judging by what I saw last night we have A LOT to learn!! I will add that 8:00 is too late for these little girls to be playing ball!! I think that was a lot of the problem was that it was so late. One of the dugout moms told me that Gracie was crying for me in the dugout!!

We play again tonight at 6, and I hope that we do better!!!

Fingers crossed, we want Gracie to hit the ball tonight!!

What a great day we had!! We slept in, lounged around the house, and then we were like " Let's get out of here!" So, we took the girls to the Little Rock Zoo. The zoo has gotten a bad rep due to all the construction, but they are making progress and there are not many exhibits closed. They have a new exhibit (well new to us since we haven't been in so long!) the lorikeets. You can walk in with all the birds and they fly all around you. Pretty neat, but I was worried one might land on the girls and bite them. It didn't happen! The weather was nice so most of the animals were out. The gorillas were out and playing, the bears had a birthday party so some were still playing with boxes and wrapping paper, and the river otters were out socializing with the kids. Jadyn got to get out of the wagon for a little while, but she didn't want to hold our hand, and she is still wobbly and of course fell and scraped her forehead up pretty good. Gracie really had a good time, and on the way home (we always talk about what we did) asked her what her favorite animal was, she said the lions. Then that became a game, " my favorite animal had stripes", so we had to try to guess, " Tiger", no, "zebra", no, and so on and so on. Until we heard a little whisper, "try the ant eater". Then we got it. Too funny she was helping us out!!

We did a little running around after that while the girls napped in the car. We had a gift card to eat at On the border. The food was good, but the service was awful. We got some free cheese dip out of the deal though.

Next was the weekend grocery shopping trip to walmart. That's always fun..........not. It was after 9 by the time we got home. Whew! What an exhausting day!!

This was after we got home from the lake. Jadyn was laying on JoJo but she sat up to pose! What a ham!! Jo was wore out from our trip, but by the next day he was back to his old self and just walked right over Jadyn! Back outside for Jo!

Jerred in high school had this thing about superman. He had it across his windshield on his truck, and even now still has a couple of shirts. His mom even recently found a superman hairbrush that was Jerred's when he was little. So, when we see something superman that we can get for the girls we get it. I found some cute pink supergirl pjs at walmart and had to get them! They even have a cape!! Gracie said that they are pink girls!

We had a great weekend! Saturday we had a birthday party at Mills park in Bryant, and it was nice outside but very windy!! Then we did the dreaded grocery shopping at walmart! It was so nice outside that we went to Lake Katherine for an afternoon picnic with the family! We had hot dogs and chilli and chips and a great time visiting and relaxing and watching the kids play!!

I tell you this girl of mine Gracie is so hard to get pictures of her sometimes!! She thinks she's too busy or she just makes some of the silliest faces!! this one is actually good!

Jadyn loved playing in the leaves and rocks, but she also loved trying to eat them!

Jerred insisted that we bring our big great dane, JoJo with us. He was good and he loved being out with us! (Jo is only 1 year old and he is not full grown yet!)

My little baby is walking now! She really just decided this past week to get up and go!

Silly girls!! I love you!!

We ended our little trip with a walk by the lake! What a great Saturday!!

Why vaccinations are important!

Last week was a rough week for us! Wednesday morning Jadyn woke up and threw up in her bed. I didn't really know what to think about this except just to see what happens next. I gave her some banana and cheerios and just waited to see what would happen. It didn't take long, she got sick again. And again. So, I called my kids parents and let them know what was going on, and told them Jerred could come home to keep the kids, but everyone came and got them. So, my day was spent holding Jadyn, getting her to drink something, and letting her sleep on my lap. By Thursday she was much better................

Here she is day 2. No pictures from day 1 since I was holding her all day!

Now, Gracie's Thursday morning began a little different. She woke up and threw up in her bed, and then got in the shower and kept on, and on, and on. Then the explosive diarrhea came. She couldn't even make it to the bathroom! So, Thursday was spent taking 15 showers, cleaning up throw up and poop, and washing about 20 loads of laundry! The whole time I'm telling myself it's only going to last one day, you can do this! Well, Friday began much the same way, then Saturday, Sunday, and by Monday we took her to the doctor to find out she has Rotavirus!
Yuck!! Yesterday was her first vomit/diarrhea free day!! Almost a week after it began!!

Here she is day 1 or 2 not sure, but she looks awful!!

My whole point is that had Jadyn not had the rotavirus vaccine she would have ended up in the hospital for her first birthday! Rotavirus is an awful illness, and I hope you decided to give you child this vaccine! Gracie spent 6 days of not keeping anything down! My sweet girl who loves to dance and jump around spent countless hours laying on the couch! We hated seeing her like this! We are so glad she didn't have to be hospitalized for this because we did keep her hydrated the best we could.

So, Rotavirus.........

1 bottle of Sprite, 7up, ginger ale

2 bottles of gatorade, pedialyte

5 cans chicken noodle soup

2 cans of lysol

2 containers of clorox wipes

20 loads of laundry

30 showers

2 prescription meds

Jadyn's 1st Birthday!!

Gracie has had the stomach bug since Thursday so, she had to miss Jadyn's party but we brought back some presents for her to help Jadyn open. We also saved the smash cake for big sissy to watch me eat. Will post pictures when we do that!

Jadyn wasn't very happy during gift opening time. But she had been playing with this one gift bag and we just thought she really wanted to open it. So, when we opened it we were surprised to see her pacifier! I guess that's why she was so interested in that present!!

Jadyn has not had any cake before, but you would have thought she was a pro! I can't wait to see what she does with her smash cake! Her cake was shaped like Brobee from Yo gabba gabba. Tracie Rich made it and did an awesome job!!!

Wow! I really can't believe it's been a year since Jadyn was born! I am so glad I have got to be home with her this whole time.

So, what are some things that my one year old Jadyn does..............

She's not walking yet, but she will take a few steps to you. If she realizes she's walking she quickly sits down!!

She's a climber!! She likes to sit on the couch and try to get down by herself, so I had to teach her how to get off!!

She is starting to eat more grown up food, but not much!

She says mom or mama, da da, ball, look, bye bye, and she shakes her head no!

Gracie and Princess (she named her, I would have named her demon!) I can't believe Princess was actually sitting with her!

It is not an uncommon site in our house to see our girls playing together. Jadyn wants all of Gracie's toys and Gracie plays with all of Jadyn's. Jump ahead 10-12 years and it will be clothes! For right now, I am glad that they play well together!

Gracie 4 years old and about to get her first haircut! I waited 2 years for her to get hair, we didn't cut much off!

She was born Jan. 18,2009 at 25 weeks. Her family needs your prayers! So, this morning has started out great...........Jadyn kept going to down the hall and banging on sleeping Gracie's door. Well, Corbin of course had to follow her and do the same thing! I kept going and getting them. Well, the last time I went and got them, they were being way too quiet, my bedroom door had not been closed all the way and they were playing in my room. Then sweet little Jadyn decided to go to the den and play (which is a no-no bc of the fireplace) well corbin followed her. I went in there and said Hey, You are suppose to be in here! Corbin starts crying, but jadyn is smiling that little i'm so sweet and innocent smile! Wow, all that by 9 this morning, I wonder what the rest of the day will bring??

It's 4:15 and my daycare kids are gone, Jadyn is still asleep, and for right now Gracie is being good. I wish I could take a nap, but I know if I tried Jadyn would be awake by the time I got to sleep. She normally is up from her nap but her schedule is a little off today because I gave her some benadryl for her snotty nose. Oh the joys of having a daycare at my house!! So, I'm new to the blog world, but I wanted a way to keep up with all the things my babies are doing. Gracie is four going on 15. She challenges me everyday. She demands all of my attention, and I love having conversations with her. You never know what she is going to come up with. She is so sassy and has the biggest imagination. She told me yesterday she has a baby in her belly and actually it was four babies, their names are going to be Dorfee, snowdrop, cinmer,and dragon. Two boys and two girls. We told her she has to be married to have babies in her belly, and then she says I'm just tending I'm grown up. Gracie is a creature of habit, she is very reluctant to change anything! We rearranged her bedroom this past weekend, which resulted in her being up at midnight Sunday night screaming and trying to move her bed back. Man, I really hope she outgrows this! We are going to sign her up to play softball in Benton to get her out of the house and around kids her age. I know she is probaly tired of spending all of her time with babies!!

Jadyn.............She is 11 months old and I smile just thinking about her! She is a wonderful baby! I know everyone says that, but she has been such a joy. She is very independent, she doesn't require me to entertain her. She loves to play! So, she finally got 2 teeth! I was beginning to think she was going to gum her food forever. Although, that would have been fine since she is still nursing and tends to bite me now! I've made it this long though I can take it! I'm waiting for her to start walking now............anytime now! She already loves to get into stuff, I can't imagine what it's going to be like once she is more mobile! She loves to get into my kitchen cabinets, pull the diapers out of the baskets, unfold my clothes, get into anything and everything! She loves Yo gabba gabba! It comes on Nick jr or nog. I have to say it is one of the best shows for kids! The music is great, and very catchy! When it comes on she goes up to the tv and dances!!

So, I have three extended children.............Mallory who is almost three and has the biggest vocabulary for someone her age. I have to remind myself that she is little!She loves to watch her cartoonies and sing. Corbin who is 1 and right now the resident toy thief, but I love him! He loves to watch yo gabba gabba and put his food in his hair. And Matthew who is 11 months. He has only been with me for three weeks, so I haven't really gotten to know him, but I think once he gets used to the routine and the other kids he will be great! So far he loves to play by himself but hopefully soon he will join the others!

I am tired today! I have got to get my babes to bed earlier! (and myself) Especially since Jadyn has stopped sleeping all night. I will add some pictures later!
